David -

Yeah, it's interesting to see how Clinton's "undecided" numbers seemed to hover around 8-12% his whole first term, while Obama's seem to be falling steadily. I am also a little surprised at Obama's approval numbers staying so steady for so long.

Elizabeth -

To tell you the truth, I was really surprised no one else had already registered ObamaPollWatch.com. I snapped it up for ten years, optimistically predicting a second term...

Hey, I did a gay marriage/polygamy column a while back, and I still (quite immodestly) think it's one of the best things I've ever written. Like the initial torture column, though, it's a shame the HuffPost comments have disappeared forever, because the commentary was fascinating...

This is really interesting. I've been pleasantly surprised at how Obama's approval numbers have not sagged despite some intensely negative coverage in some of the MSM. Maybe people are just getting smarter about how they interpret the news or maybe people are just willing to give him a chance.

The other interesting point is the upswing in disapproval which parallels the downswing in undecideds. This would seem to indicate to me that some of the anti-Obama marketing efforts have paid off. Though only with a certain audience.

Not quite sure what to make of it yet, but I'd say it's a trend worth watching.

Chris,

Don't despair! I think we're just a little too early into the game right now. Later on, you are going to look like a veritable genius for having started this great project that takes a monthly and indepth look at the polls that only you can do so insightfully.

Looking forward to next months results!

I have to say, so far I've been a bit underwhelmed at the popular response to these columns. But, ever the optimist, I have now locked up the domain name, just in case it does eventually catch on and go viral (or something)…

Torture columns always produces numbers, but that subject has been hashed to death... No pun intended.. :D

You could always do a same-sex marriage column? Naw, we would all (probably) be in agreement on that issue, so where would the fun in that be?? :D

It's people like Osborne Ink who keep me this optimistic, I must say.

And to Michale, hey, I gave honest fair warning, right? Heh heh.

So, for fun (this will improve over time, I promise), check out the newest domain name on the web:

ObamaPollWatch.com

Hey, domain names are cheap, relatively speaking...

Now, if you're one of those who just hates or distrusts polling in general, then I would advise you to stop reading right now, because the rest of this column is only going to annoy you. Fair warning.
