kevinem2 -

I believe the correct response to that is: "I picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue!"

Heh. (anyone wondering what that was all about needs to rent the movie "Airplane" without delay.)

I had a column sketched out for Thursday, but I decided to do a little historical research on it to make it better. Actually, I've got two "tax day" columns for next week for you guys. The first, although it would never ever actually happen, would simplify our tax code faster than you could blink; the second will run on tax day itself and may bore the pants off people, or may be interesting. Your mileage may vary, in other words.

Chris,

Don't call me Shirley :-)

Seriously, I assume you had a column ready for Thursday; why not placate us fans and run it on this site today or another day this holiday weekend?

Liz,

Yes, CCC (catastrophic climate change) would be the correct terminology if, I say again, IF, it was a legitimate concern..

But the disciples of Al Gore really stepped on their wee-wees by going with the "Global Warming" battle-cry...

It really epitomizes the utter ignorance and lack of real science that is representative of the whole Global Warming fraud/con...

<I>"STTTEEEEAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKK??"</I>
<B>-Homer Simpson</B>

Michale,

The correct phrase is catastrophic climate change...I should know, I have been suffering through it and am close to making plans to relocate to the southern hemishphere!

By the way, I'm suddenly getting a craving for a big, thick juicy steak!

...love your acronyms, by the way.

It's been determined that fiber-optic trunk lines contribute to the Human Caused Global Warming(Yet The Planet Is Cooling) "problem"....

Henceforth, by governmental decree, ALL communications in California will be made SOLELY thru string and cups.... Initially, it was thought that California should revert to the Pony Express.. But, it's been proven that horse flatulence is a major ccontribution to HUMAN Caused Global Warming(Yet The Planet Is Cooling). This is due to PETA's insistence that animals be treated the same as humans, hence their flatuental contribution to HCGW(YTPIC)

That is all.....

kevinem2 -

TWO columns? On a Friday? Surely you jest...

Thanks for the kind words, though. It is shocking for people to realize how tenuous our modern life truly is. Four cables snipped, and 50,000 people couldn't call 911.

Scary how dependent people have become on modern communication methods...I'm glad you and Mrs. W. are OK and had no need for the downed services. And thank you for the speedy explanation of what happened. I was mildly worried something bad had happened in your family. Do we have two posts to look forward to today?
