I've been getting behind in answering comments, so I'm going to start here and work my way forward. Thanks to everyone for commenting this week!

OsborneInk -

I like that -- "deal with it!" I think I'll save that one for when the inevitable "class warfare" shouts come from the other side. It'll be a talking point yet, I promise.

Stan -

I agree. "Throw the bums out!" Hire some financial people who can prove they DIDN'T contribute to the collapse of the economy instead.

Michale -

Good to see you back! I get too complacent when you're not around to stir things up, I have to admit. Heh heh.

Well, that article was a little alarmist, I have to say. Mussolini and the fascists wanted to take over, Obama is a bit more reluctant than that. They called FDR worse things, and yet everyone today loves Social Security.

The most successful fascist achievement of all time? The Volkswagen Beetle. That's kind of a tangent, but I'm full of useless trivia at times... and Beetles were on my mind from Friday's article....

Yes, lets get all the information out in the open. My own feeling is that all these AIG execs. should be fired. They are not the "best and the brightest" and there is no reason to give them "retention incentives" to stay. The sad thing is that they will be laughing on their way to the bank while the rest of us will be footing the bill because I don't see Obama or Congress doing anything except talk - which is meaningless.

Consider Obama’s mortgage relief bill ($80 billion) against Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, which destroyed some $60 billion and counting. It is just one of the many Ponzi schemes we are learning about. According to Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman, forty-five percent of the world’s wealth has been destroyed by schemes both legal and illegal.

All this fancy financial gimmickry was designed to sap every penny of real value into executive bonuses. Now that this house of cards has collapsed, Swift will excuse me if I don’t shed tears for the 2% of Americans making more than $250,000. They caused this mess; I am happy to see them clean it up.

“Eat the rich?” Yes – in tiny bites. If you make $300,000 a year, new marginal rates increase your tax burden about $4.10 a day. That’s a Starbucks venti latté. I say: "Deal with it."

There's your TP, Chris. "Deal with it."
