I still think Colin Powell had the best answer to such nonsense.  On Meet The Press, he said (doing this from memory, not an actual quote):

&quot;You know what the correct answer is to the question &#039;Is Obama a Muslim?&#039;  The correct answer is &#039;So what?&#039;  It shouldn&#039;t matter one way or another.&quot;

I thought he summed it up nicely.
