I was close on some, but I really underestimated the turn out machine Obama had in place in many states.

Or, more accurately, they will be impressive in their ideas and efforts.

But, as you say, the Congress is going to be the same old single digit popular entity that it was before the elections. So, I honestly am not expecting much.

While, as I indicated, it will be a win for me if the Democrats are able to push their nanny-centric ideas, I fully expect that Democrats will screw things up much MUCH worse than the GOP has done..

Time will tell.. 2 years time, to be exact..

Barack Obama AND Joe Biden will begin to impress in the first 100 days. In fact, don't be surprised if VP-elect Biden will be off to Iraq before Inauguration Day to quietly begin to lay the groudwork and foundation for a strategy to promote a sustainable political solution.

I am sure that President-elect Obama will be very busy before Inauguration Day, too...and not just with the transition. Of course, the rest of us will have to keep reasonable expectations.

But, I will say that I have NEVER been the least bit impressed with the likes of the Democratic leadership in Congress and I don't expect that to change much. I fully expect Obama/Biden to take care of all that nonsense, too.

And, if I may be so bold as to suggest another wager…I'll bet that your socks will be knocked off when you consider all that has been accomplished once we get through the first term of this administration!

Ahhh, but Obama and Democrats don't HAVE a first term, IE 4 years. They have exactly 2 years to show the American people that they have the right stuff..

And, if the 2006 mid-terms are any indication (as immortalized by CW's new column) it's going to be one broken promise after another..

But, as I said, it's a win-win for me, personally. If Obama and Democrat's do the right thing, my life will be a lot better.

If they screw things up worse than Bush and the GOP ever could, then the "I TOLD YA SO"s will come fast and furious... :D
