It's a FACT that if someone clamped someone else's head between their legs and carved a 'B' into said someone's cheek, it would identical (as far as the placement and position) to someone who stood in a mirror and carved a 'B' into their own cheek..

It's ALSO a FACT that one explanation lends itself to a conclusion of FRAUD and one does not lend itself to a conclusion of FRAUD.

It's a FACT that YOU chose the explanation that lends itself to the conclusion of fraud.

It's MY OPINION that you choose that explanation because it cast doubt upon an incident that you didn't WANT to believe to be true..

If I am wrong, I apologize..

But you simply CANNOT dispute the logic of my argument...

See, you did it again. Argue your points on facts, don't try to tell me about my biases when you don't know squat about me. Considering I've been a registered Republican since 18, and until last year at age 36, I'm hardly "on the far left".

As for the backwards B explination. Ockham's razor. What is more likely... that she did it herself in a mirror not realizing it was backwards. Or that someone mugged her, then decided to not make a quick get away and instead decided to carve a B into her face, holding her down, keeping her so still that he could "scratch" a near perfect B into her face while conscious? If unconscious he wouldn't have needed to hold her head between his legs and do it bent over like you said. He could have done it looking at her head on and done it right side up.

However, another perfectly logical and rational possibility was that, as I mentioned, the victim's head could have been clamped between the attacker's legs and the attacker carved the letter upside down.

If you don't believe me, write a B on a piece of paper with a black marker. Turn it upside down and the turn the paper around and view it from the other side. It's identical..

You had two possible and reasonable explanations for the Mirror/Upside-Down letter 'B'..

Your bias led you to the one explanation that indicated fraud when there was another explanation that DIDN'T support the contention of fraud was equally logical and rational..

That's my point.

The fact that YOURs was, at least, an informed response doesn't change the fact that the OTHER responses such as that were NOT..

This story stunk of fraud as soon as I saw the picture she sent to a right wing blog. THAT was what convinced me, on top of the complete lack of rationality in her story.

There are assholes on both sides. But this story, and the one with bullet holes don't stand up on their own. The guy who had his garage spray painted "Racist!" and had his McCain signs burned... yeah. That one was wrong. So was the guy who lives 20 mins from me that hung Obama in effigy.

So please. If you want to make a point, make a point. But don't try and characterize me as part of some group and question my views as trivial or hypocritical. You can debate my views, as I will yours. But do it on what *I* say, and not by falsely attributing some stereotype or CW onto me. Just as I'll show you the same respect in return.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Police sources tell KDKA that a campaign worker has now confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter "B" in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker.

Ashley Todd, 20, of Texas, initially told police that she was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield and that the suspect became enraged and started beating her after seeing her GOP sticker on her car.

Police investigating the alleged attack, however, began to notice some inconsistencies in her story and administered a polygraph test.

Authorities, however, declined to release the results of that test.

Investigators did say that they received photos from the ATM machine and "the photographs were verified as not being the victim making the transaction."

This afternoon, a Pittsburgh police commander told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin that Todd confessed to making up the story.

The commander added that Todd will face charges; but police have not commented on what those charges will be.

According to police, investigators working on the interview process detected several inconsistencies in Todd's story that differed from statements made in the original police report.

Pittsburgh Police Public Information Officer Diane Richard released a statement earlier today, saying: "Because of the inconsistencies in her statements, Ms. Todd was asked to submit to a polygraph examination which she agreed to do."

No photos of Todd are being released by Pittsburgh Police at this time.

The investigation is continuing as officials determine what charges will be filed.

Her story is apparently falling apart. And it turns out she has changed her story, admitting that her assailant did not see a McCain bumper sticker and adding to her account a sexual assault and losing consciousness.

Sorry Michale, but that story offers no proof of any connection to his McCain support and the damage. It says nothing about the signs being damaged or vandalized or stolen. It's a wild leap to say that because he has McCain signs that that must be the reason.

As for signs being stolen and vandalized... I attribute that on both sides to stupid people being stupid. I live near a high school and there are always punks that think they are cool when they do stupid crap like that. They don't care who the sign is for, they just act like punks.

I've seen them walk by and kick over garbage cans, stomp through the landscaping, etc.

So... short of the vandalism seen in Minnesota towards the various officials, or something more factual than "My house was damaged, it MUST be those evil democrats because I had McCain signs" it's not a valid claim. Same goes the other way.

Rog Coverely said several pellets pierced his Longwood home. Coverely showed several spiderwebbed-holes in the front windows of his home.

The Republican manager said he is convinced he was targeted because of new McCain signs he added around his home.

"All I can tell you is this, I have a very good relationship with my neighbors," Coverely said. "I mow my lawn. The only thing that has changed is I have two McCain signs in my front yard."

I dunno... I don't see any OFFICIAL reports that the police suspect it's a bogus attack. I am SURE that the hysterical Left is ALL OVER IT, screaming FRAUD and such. You say that some Right Wing blogs are saying the same thing? Fair enough...

However, I am constrained to point out that the 'B' could also be an "upside down" 'B' as opposed to a mirror'ed 'B'.

Regardless, even if this particular story turns out to be contrived, the point is still a valid one..

There has been numerous articles of late on how McCain volunteers are being assaulted by Obama supporters and McCain's vehicles and offices being vandalized..

And all we hear from the hysterical left is the Right on Left attacks.
