Here's a simple idea I had about the "Surge" and how to push back with something that average person will understand, something that will allow Obama to push through the McCain faux patriotism arguement.

Something I think Obama should use at the upcoming debate:

McCain: The surge has worked, the surge has worked. I should be president because the surge has worked blah blah blah.

Obama: Even if we concede that the surge has worked, getting one thing right after six years of disasterous choices doesn't make those six years go away.

The Miami Dolphins last year lost the first 13 games of the season. Just because they managed to win their 14th game didn't negate the 15 other losses that season. You didn't hear the coaches telling reporters "We beat Baltimore, we beat Baltimore" when asked about their horrible season.

That one win doesn't make up for the season of losses. That one win didn't save the job of the head coach. The owner replaced him. The owner also didn't give the head coach's job to the offensive coordinator. He was part of the problem. He was calling or designing lot of those plays and supporting the head coach's decisions the entire time. They were both fired and new people were brought in to rebuild the team.

This is America's decision. The country's head coach is out, John McCain is asking to be promoted from Offensive Coordinator to Head Coach. Even though he was the one calling for or supporting all the disasterous plays from the beginning. One play that manages to work well doesn't excuse years of bad plays.

Replacing a bad coach with someone that uses the exact same play book will just result in another losing season.

This country simply can't afford to keep hiring coaches that use the same play book full of bad plays. It's time for America to bring in new coaches with a new playbook.

Helloooooo!

Where the heck is everyone? Financial crisis got y'all down and scrambling to your advisors? I'll worry about that tomorrow.

Maybe what we have here is a good opportunity to sneak this in...
