Well, just let O'Reilly try. He hasn't yet come up against the likes of chrisweigant.com et al. and he wouldn't bloody know what hit him! As for Biden, he usually sums up the situation rather succinctly - just don't go around calling it...spin. Do you realize how difficult it was to put 'Biden' and 'spin' in the same sentence...geesh!

Heh heh. Just wanted to put it in perspective... you're right, profit-taking by those hit hard by the other financial crises in America are probably a big part of it, but we're not exactly going for subtlety here at http://FTP... this is the "all-spin zone" (if you will)...

Boy, I hope Bill O'Reilly doesn't sue me over that last comment!

I think they just took the comments down for regular maintenence... they seem to be doing a lot of that on the whole comments system these days... so don't go all paranoid on me here!

As for which posts make the HuffPost "Featured" list, your guess is as good as mine... although, to be fair, I've had a pretty good run recently, I have to admit...

There was a bit more to it than that. Yes, the Iran talks played a part, but it wasn't all of it.

A few other factors played into it:

"The Energy Information Administration reported that U.S. crude oil supplies rose by 3 million barrels, or 1 percent, last week. That is the opposite of the 3 million barrel draw analysts surveyed by energy research firm Platts expected. Gasoline supplies also leapt unexpectedly."

"A number of market participants speculated that at least some of the week's sell-off was the result of cash-strapped banks selling energy contracts to raise money for other needs."

Also the extra output the Saudis agreed to last month hit the market this week increasing supplies even more.
