Well, just let O'Reilly try. He hasn't yet come up against the likes of chrisweigant.com et al. and he wouldn't bloody know what hit him!

As for Biden, he usually sums up the situation rather succinctly - just don't go around calling it...spin.

Do you realize how difficult it was to put 'Biden' and 'spin' in the same sentence...geesh!

BLaws -

Facts?!? You give me FACTS, here at Demo-spin-central?!?

Heh heh. Just wanted to put it in perspective... you're right, profit-taking by those hit hard by the other financial crises in America are probably a big part of it, but we're not exactly going for subtlety here at FTP... this is the "all-spin zone" (if you will)...

Boy, I hope Bill O'Reilly doesn't sue me over that last comment!

"Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger."
--JRR Tolkein

"Never meddle in the affairs of wizards, unless you are soggy and hard to light."
--mid-1970s spoof

"Do not question the ways of HuffPost, for the moderators are snarky, and quick to whine to Arianna."
--Chris Weigant, the present day

I think they just took the comments down for regular maintenence... they seem to be doing a lot of that on the whole comments system these days... so don't go all paranoid on me here!

As for which posts make the HuffPost "Featured" list, your guess is as good as mine... although, to be fair, I've had a pretty good run recently, I have to admit...

I hope I'm being narcissistic but I would like to apologize if I was the cause of your posts being buried at Huff. You can't even hint of inside job there, but that never discourages me. I'll resolve to communicate with you here.

@CW: Want gas prices down? Talk to Iran.

There was a bit more to it than that. Yes, the Iran talks played a part, but it wasn't all of it.

A few other factors played into it:

"The Energy Information Administration reported that U.S. crude oil supplies rose by 3 million barrels, or 1 percent, last week. That is the opposite of the 3 million barrel draw analysts surveyed by energy research firm Platts expected. Gasoline supplies also leapt unexpectedly."

"A number of market participants speculated that at least some of the week's sell-off was the result of cash-strapped banks selling energy contracts to raise money for other needs."

Also the extra output the Saudis agreed to last month hit the market this week increasing supplies even more.

Elizabeth -

I particularly liked the line "The Bush Administration is finally facing reality." Gotta hand it to Biden this week, he summed it all up nicely!

Well, alrighty then...you win, CW.

I am now, officially, a true blue fan of FTP...absolutely, positively, unequivocally...I mean that sincerely...I'm not trying to be facetious here and that's no malarkey!

Couldn't agree more with your award winners, either.
