I can't say that I'm very familiar with Al Franken...the comedian or the pol. But, I'm sure that he would add a very clean perspective to the senate and be an articulate advocate for any large number of causes...and he's a funny and good-looking guy. It could be a storybook, man!

I was particularly intrigued by his interest in the issues of concern to the original occupants of the land - I'd love to hear him wax lyrical on the senate floor about some of those. Maybe he could get himself on the Lou Dobbs show and talk about the real meaning of illegal immigration! Ha!

He makes a great deal of sense on the big issue of universal healthcare - reminds me, in fact, of another senator I am familiar with.

"Minnesotans need a Senator who's got their back - Norm Coleman hasn't even been on their side." Now, if that isn't a Democratic 'talking point' with the possibility for any number of variations on the theme, then I'm sure I don't know what is.

In any event, Senator Franken sounds like he might be a very welcome addition to the senate...in more ways than one.
