From what I understand, Gonzales fired a dozen or so US Attorneys... But I also seem to recall that Clinton fired ALL the US Attorneys during his presidency.. That, too me, seems to be a lot worse...

Regardless of my ignorance (which I freely concede) it's my feeling that Bush could hold a press conference in a pink tutu, announce he is gay and going to allow Gay Marriage so he could marry Karl, declare an immediate end to the Iraq war, announce that he is going resign AND fire Cheney and make Cindy Sheehan President and Al Franken VP....

And the Democrats would STILL castigate him, villify him and hold his nuts to the fire...

In other words, Chris.. In answer to your question, I don't think that Pelosi or the Democrats will give Bush an IOTA of credit, regardless of how much it is in the country's best interest to do so...

That is my cynical view of our political landscape..

Now, forgive me.. I want to set up my TIVO to catch Bush's tutu-clad press conference... :D

If Bush did make the Dems such an offer I would be giving him a short list of replacements for Gonzales.

I don't think he will though unless he is forced to by events.

I do think he will pardon Libby but not until the end of his term.
